There are unfortunate events that we can’t control, but if we can do something about it beforehand, we must prevent it. With the fortuitous circumstances and some accidents, sometimes, it is too late to take actions. However, there are types of accidents that may occur due to negligence. One of which can be fire. For reasons like electronic malfunctions or cooking disasters. Thankfully, you can avoid being hurt by installing fire alarms in your house.
Different Types of Smoke Alarms
  • The photoelectric smoke alarm can detect a smoky fire before a large one ensues.
  • Ionization fire alarm helps detect open and towering flames.
  • Dual sensor smoke alarm is the combination of ionization and photoelectric fire alarms. It can spot any fire in your house.

Where You Should Not Install
  • Above the stove where the stream is easily detected. Your fire alarm may identify a single smoke from just frying an egg.
  • Near a window or a fireplace.
  • Above heating and cooling ducks
  • Above doors and ceilings right next to the wall

The importance of fire alarms is to detect the threat of fire and not to inconvenience you and the neighborhood. If it goes off by accident without actual danger, it may just create an anxious atmosphere. Also, make sure that the fire alarms are scattered in your house and in places where it should be. One fire alarm will not give enough protection. Ensure that you install in bedrooms as well.

How to Maintain the Fire Alarms
Of course, just like any other things, smoke alarms need maintenance. You need to make sure that it still functions and not just installed.
  • Every month, check the smoke alarm through the test button. If the sound does not work, it is time to replace it.
  • If your smoke alarm is run through batteries, check if the sound is still audible. If the noise is too low or creates a beeping sound, it is about time to change its batteries.
  • Always dust off the fire alarms; ensure that it has no dirt or any debris. You may use a hose attachment or vacuum. It is essential that air reaches the equipment for better detection and function.
  • Alarm units usually last from 8 to 10 years. Take note and change whenever necessary.

It is one thing to lose your belongings to the fire, but do not let your family be harmed by it. Install fire alarms at home and make sure that your home has enough security and protection. I'm glad that this article talks about how fire alarms can detect and warn you of threats. Choosing to install them in the right places could ensure that any threats are noticed as soon as possible so you can prevent damage or injury. When setting up everything, you'd probably want to hire a professional to install your fire alarm system so you can trust it to work correctly.

I appreciate it when you pointed out that a fire alarm system is important to detect the threat of fire that occurs in our property. Since I am moving to a new house soon, I will keep in mind to hire a reliable service to have them installed in my house. In this way, I can ensure the safety of my family so I won't lose them to any unfortunate events.
